The Arid Woods of Taylor Creek, South Lake Tahoe
Taylor Creek in South Lake Tahoe hosts both arid woods and a salmon spawning location. When I visited in November, hundreds of rotting fish attracted the attention of local omnivores such as ducks, gulls, and bears. The lovely sights contrasted the abhorrent smell.
